Above are the results of our apple sauce experiment one month later. The apple sauce in the jar went through the canning sterilization process and has no mold present. The apple sauce in the plastic container was not sterilized, it is covered in three different types of mold we can see.
The boys can't wait to eat the preserved apple sauce. We tossed the other container straight in the garbage.
